RE: Need Some Quik Advice on TV Rear Axel?

My F150 has the 3.55 axle. While my trailer is lighter than yours (4700 lbs GVWR), I have had no problems and have been very happy with the towing performance of the truck. I don't think you'll have any problems.

RE: Is my kid normal??

Q. Is my kid normal?? A. There is no such thing as a 'normal' kid. Maybe he just likes collecting the tickets. Almost all kids will focus on an item and want to collect as much as they can. With my daughter, it's rocks. Not pretty rocks or unique rocks, just normal everyday rocks, even gravel from the driveway. Anytime we go anywhere, I end up with MY pockets full of HER valuable treasures. With my son, it's Pokemon cards. He has no idea how to use them or 'battle' with them(neither do I), but he has a binder full of them and treats them like gold. So maybe the tickets that he gets are more valuable to him than the plastic junk he can trade them for.

RE: Looking for Beautiful Northeast campground

We stayed at Calumet in West Ossipee, NH. It is Lutheran conference center that has a family campground. I'm not sure when the Calumet campground closes for the season but there are several other campgrounds in the surrounding area that have gotten good reviews. Story Land is open weekends through Columbus Day and is about 45 minutes from West Ossipee. I think your kids would love it, my 4 & 6 year old did.

RE: Recaulking Roof on 2007 Jayco 26L

any reason to use 4" eternabond over 2"? Does the 2" roll adequately cover the seams? If you're covering the old caulking on the seams, the 2" will probably not be wide enough. If you're strippng the old caulking off and just covering the seam, the 2" might cover.

Here is the cheapest place I've found for eternabond You can also try here http://www.bigrocksupply.com/eternabond-roofseal-white-c-3_104_345.html

RE: Recaulking Roof on 2007 Jayco 26L

I'm not sure if Eternabond is BETTER than caulk but it is very simple to apply and there is virtually no mess to clean up after. I used it on my roof that was leaking badly at the front seam and it took care of any leaks I had.

RE: stupid key broke off in lock

Jeremy, when I ordered mine I also requested that they all be keyed alike. All of the locks and keys had the same #'s stamped on them but one of the locks would not work with any of the keys. Of course I found this out AFTER I installed everything, so I just lock the three that do work. I mentioned this in an e-mail to Flip but I got no response. Overall, I am still very happy with the new latches. I hope you get yours straightened out.

RE: About the time you think you heard it all!!!!!

I always find it amazing some few always wont to throw their beliefs on others and even go as far as suggest using Petco to camp, now Wal Mart is another thing but for another thread. I was responding to a post that suggested that 'dog haters' should go camp in a Walmart parking lot. So I suggested that the 'dog lovers' should camp at Petco. Relax, I'm not pushing my beliefs on anyone, just throwing my opinion into the mix. :W

RE: About the time you think you heard it all!!!!!

Geesh what should I tell these two deer that are right outside my mh heading down for some water. I sure aint gonna tell this fellow that runs this place that is longhorn cattle should not be on his fenced in property across from our site. I think I will tell the deer be sure to move on. I am sure they will understand. Dogs ya there are some of those here also, seems pretty quiet around here to me,dang Wal Mart is seventy five miles away and that would be another thread bashing for some. Are deer and cattle domesticated pets? Does the owner of the cattle allow them to drop hot, steamy gifts for you on your campsite? Is a deer barking while tied to a tree at 9PM? I don't see the connection.

RE: About the time you think you heard it all!!!!!

OH Yeah...the dog haters are out in full force. Go camp at walmat. You can have any spot you want. Why should people who can't stand barking dogs at campgrounds(even though everyone says that their dog doesn't bark, someones dog is doing the barking)have to stay at Walmart. Maybe people that want to camp with dogs should have to camp in a Petco parking lot. Last time I checked, campgrounds are for humans, bringing dogs along is a privilege, not a right. BTW, I am not a dog hater. I own 2 dogs but have enough common sense to know that if I bring them camping, they will bark and disturb others, so they stay home.

RE: 2 questions, parking spaces and water pipes

Hi Sarah, we park our camper on the grass right beside our garage. I use some 2 X 8 pressure treated boards under the tires. Like pammi, the grass under our trailer is dead. If the sight of the dead grass is something you want to avoid, then the blocks that you have would certainly work (I'm assuming that you want to make sort of a patio style parking spot). As far as winterizing, don't sweat it, after you do it once or twice it will be very easy. Search the forums and you'll find some good info on winterizing.

RE: Mods to our Hybrid

Hmmm ...did the instructions tell you to mount the latches that way? Mine are mounted the other way (yours look upside down)? Not saying they are wrong but just different than mine. Here is a photo of my HTT. Tim I can't speak for happycampin4, but I just purchased a set of these latches and there were no instructions with them, so they pretty much left it up to the installer on which way to put them. I also installed them upside down from the way yours are and they work fine. Much better than those junky little screw-knobs.

RE: Bunk Latch Replacement

Thanks for the compliment. The $75 was for 4 sets of latch arms & bunk locks & shipping which I think was quite a bargain considering the cheapest I could find them through a dealer was $180. As far as I can tell, they all seem to be universal, I would think you'd have no problem putting them on your Coyote.

Bunk Latch Replacement

Well, I finally got around to swapping my bunk latches from the screw type to the new style. I bought the parts directly through Fastech Industrial Corp, 1-800-837-2505 (ask for 'Flip' Miller). The parts cost around $75 with shipping, plus about $30 at the local hardware store. The swap took a full Saturday, mostly due to the fact that I had to fabricate, fit, disassemble, paint and final assemble shims to raise the latch off of the trailer skin and wood backing plates for inside. I tried just using fender washers inside, but as soon as I tried to tighten the nut, the washer started to crush the wall. A couple of forum members have inquired about the mod, so I figured that I would share with anyone who's interested. I took some pics and posted them to webshots, http://good-times.webshots.com/album/565931085RsGZgF. If anyone needs more info, feel free to contact me. This was a pretty simple mod and well worth the money. Forgot to give out the Fastec P/Ns. Here they are; P/N 65004-100 Cargo Vise, Bar Lock Handle, White Powder Coat (4) Each P/N 65006-100 Bar Lock, White Powder Coat (4) Each

RE: Buying Used Travel Star 21SSO

Check the seams on the roof for deteriorated/missing caulking or soft spots in the wood under the rubber. Look for any signs of delaminated fiberglass.

RE: October Foliage Camping

You can try Peppermint Park in Plainfield,MA. I believe they are open until Nov. It is mostly seasonals. It is a pretty clean place, bathrooms need work(the one in the office was good). We only went there once and had a pretty good time. The seasonals like to party a little during the day but were quiet when quiet time rolled around.
